Dr. Anderson chose to start his private practice in 2018 because he found that the traditional medical practice did not allow enough time for him to develop the doctor-patient relationship that offers better medical care and treats the WHOLE person.

Dr. Andrew J. Anderson was drawn to Family Medicine for its unique opportunity to develop a long-term relationship with his patients. When your doctor knows the patient, their family, their lifestyle and their overall health over time, the patient receives a better, more complete level of health care which results in improved overall well-being.

Dr. Anderson understands how important it is to know that your family is taken care of. He lives in the Lynchburg area with his wife and four children. His wife, Heather, runs the business side of the medical practice in addition to being world’s best mom to their children.

Whether he’s kayaking, cycling, running, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, Dr. Anderson enjoys an active lifestyle. And, as a result, he’s dealt with chronic pain from injury to illness. he’s been there and back and can relate to what his patients are going through. He can help you life the healthy lifestyle that’s important to you.

Interesting Facts about Dr. Anderson

Dr. Anderson grew up in Buena Vista, Virginia, where he was involved in many community organizations and where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 16.

When he was 19, Dr Anderson embarked on a 24-month mission trip in the Philippines. With a gift for languages and a heart for helping, his experiences there inspired him to return with annual medical mission trips, working with impoverished communities to assist with their medical needs. He’s planning on taking his next trip wit his son, Sam, once the pandemic is under control.

Fun facts: Dr. Anderson’s favorite foods are hamburgers and Thai food. He names his cars – ask him about Pat!
